On the occasion of the success of Serbian athletes in athletics Balkan countries - Balkan Championship in Istanbul , Consul General Zoran Markovic visited our athletes. He congratulated them on the outstanding sports results and winning medals and pointed to the excellent results they have achieved a great success for Serbia. Success of Serbian sports is especially important if you know what kind of financial difficulties facing our athletes, said Zoran Markovic . He pointed out that the country achieved success brings not only medals but also sports prestige and represents a significant opportunity for the expansion of a positive image of Serbia.
Serbian athletes have won three gold medals , two silver and one bronze , while the athlete Ivana Španović set a new national record in the hall and the world's best result this year in the long jump .
