Zoran Markovic, Consul General paid his first visit to Edirne during which he had several important meetings, including the Edirne governor Mr. Hasan Duruer and Mayor of Edirne Mr. Recep Gurkan. In a long and friendly conversation with both of collocutors he exchanged views of further opportunities for cooperation between the cities in the Republic of Serbia and the city of Edirne. Mr. Zoran Markovic, with deepest regret, informed the esteemed leadership of Edirne about consequences of the catastrophic floods, which took place in the Republic of Serbia, in which people lost lives and enormous material damage was done. He called all the people of good will in Turkey, institutions, organizations, to, in accordance with their possibilities, help the population in the Republic of Serbia. During a visit to Edirne, Zoran Markovic also met Mr. Hilmi Ibar, professor at Trakia University in Edirene, with whom he had a conversation regarding the possibilities of university cooperation between our two countries.
