On 20th of August 2014 it was held the meeting between Consul General of the Republic of Serbia in Istanbul, Mr. Zoran Markovic and representatives of immigrant community in Pendik - "Platform Friends of Sandžak". In front of the association to the meeting was attended the president of association Mr. Serkan Senay, director Mr. Husnu Gul as well as the members of association Mr. Nihad Kacar and Mr. Sadik Bilge. The meeting was used to exchange the information regarding the projects in the field of economic cooperation, as well as the current privatization process in Republic of Serbia. Beside the current topics in the field of economy, during the meeting they discussed regarding the possibility of strengthening the cultural cooperation and the opening the Serbian language class for which the association representatives expressed great interest. Mr. Markovic pointed out that the knowledge of the mother tongue, not only that it serve in preservation of tradition, but also strengthening the relations between the immigrant community and the country of origin. During the talks, representatives of association pointed the problem of long and slow administrative procedures, particularly procedures regarding the citizenship regulating process.
