Within the scope of regular activities of the Consulate General of the Republic of Serbia, with aim to establish a cooperation between municipalities in the two countries, Mayor of city Loznica Mr. Vidoje Petrovic and his associates paid a visit to Municipality of Maltepe in Istanbul. Regardless the difference in population of the two Municipalities, Maltepe about half million and Loznica about 80 000 people, cooperation has been established and will lead to municipality twinning during the return visit in the first quarter of the year 2016.

Both sides exchanged experience in the local governance and initiated relations in economic sector. This visit represents beginning of a deep and fruitful cooperation which will, besides connecting business entities, contribute to better bilateral relations of the two countries, taking into consideration the meeting was held on the eve of the first official visit at the prime ministerial level, on the 28^th and 29^th of December this year.

The main message, conveyed during the visit, was that friendships are possible regardless of religion and cultural differences, for which we can thank to large community of expatriates in Istanbul.
