Printer Friendly Version Visit of the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister R. Ljajic to the Republic of Turkey – meeting with representatives of textile industry (Istanbul, 1st of March) @ 2 March 2017 11:09 PM

On the second day of the visit to Republic of Turkey, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications Mr. Ljajic, met with representatives of notable Turkish textile companies, at the meeting organized by DEIK. Alongside trade exchange, in the upcoming period, they have reached a conclusion that additional efforts shall be also put into strengthening cooperation in the field of investments. In that regard, it is encouraging that each day more and more companies from Turkey are opening in Serbia. Mr. Ljajic emphasized that Turkish companies hire over 8 000 employees and that the goal is to open 10 more factories this year.

Business of Turkish textile company “Aster” became a model of successful foreign investment and good practise. Mr. Ljajic introduced economic measures and financial stimulation, tax reliefs and other advantages for foreign investors. He noted significance of Free trade agreements between Serbia and Russian Federation, as well as preferential trade treatment with USA. He also emphasized the fact that Government of the Republic of Serbia and relevant institutions pay special attention to each investment, accepting there is always space for improvement. However, Serbia comes before in the region when considering advantages offered to foreign investors.
