Upon the invitation of Mr. Ali Kilic, mayor of the Municipality of Maltepe in Istanbul, a delegation of Loznica Municipality visited this Istanbul Municipality from 4 to 6 August 2017. A meeting was held with Mr. Ali Kilic, mayor of Maltepe, and his assistants in charge of international cultural cooperation and for development and economic cooperation. Two sides expressed their satisfaction with the cooperation so far, within which this was a second visit of Loznica delegation to the municipality of Maltepe, while the representatives of Maltepe visited Loznica in 2016. Within the framework of the visit on the second day a two-hour Festival was performed at the central square in Maltepe. The program of the Festival was opportunity to present the cultural and tourist potentials of Serbia, among other things.

In the cultural program, KUD "Vuk Karadzic" from Loznica performed a series of original folk songs, as well as a recital of contemporary Serbian poets. A film about the tourist offer of Serbia, city of Belgrade and Loznica is presented, particularly offers of spa tourism, monasteries and other cultural contents in Serbia. The Festival was well attended. Representatives of the municipality, the Association of Emigrants Dernek "Bosna-Sandžak", a large number of guests and citizens of Maltepe, as well as surrounding Istanbul municipalities attended the Festival. During the event guests also had the opportunity to try some of the Serbian culinary specialties, which were served on the square and surrounding streets.
