At the second International Theatre Festival in Istanbul, Maltepe Belediye Tiyatrosy, our country was represented in a joint production with a partner from France. The officials of the General Consulate attended the performance to show their support.

The actress Marina Dimitrijevic, from Belgrade, and Boutros el Amari, from Paris, hosted a puppet workshop, where they taught both children and their parents about the puppetry history, puppet making and playing with puppets. Further, they hosted a workshop on Commedia dell arte, originally from Italy, showing early forms of theater, and a theater play Playland.

Marina Dimitrijevic, a co-founder of the theater troupe SAMTEATAR, has so far had performances in 15 countries worldwide with her acting projects, and has received several international awards for them. Some countries she has visited several times. Such is the case with Turkey, where she has performed for the third time. This is the third country where the Serbian-French team has met for cooperation. Tunisia and Egypt were followed by Istanbul, Turkey, and Boutros is also directing a monodrama Au bord de la mer, to be performed by Marina Dimitrijevic. The play will be performed in French, and is also planned for a tour worldwide.

“Boutros is a talented colleague with a great experience, and in cooperation with people from other countries, he brings a wide perspective with reference to art. We hope for a long-term cooperation and many wonderful future projects”, Marina said in a conversation with our officials."
